The School works closely with it’s partner, St Albans City Youth FC, who have priority use of the Astro and grass pitch facilities at weekends and from 5.30pm -9.30pm midweek.

Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School is a large, secondary school situated on the outskirts of St Albans in 23 acres of beautiful grounds. Organisations, clubs and alumni members in the local community can hire our facilities.

3G Astroturf
Fitted to FIFA standards, we offer a full size Floodlit 3G Artificial pitch. NB: The Astro carpet is due to be replaced during summer 2023 so the pitches will be unavailable during this time.
We are proud to be working in partnership with St Albans City Youth Football Club who have use of the Astroturf training facility from September to May each year – Monday to Friday between 5.30pm – 9.30pm and Saturday mornings.

The Astroturf is usually available to hire for community groups at all other times and refreshments are available to buy in our Lettings Office.
Hard Court Area
The Hard Court area is available to hire weeknights, weekends and during school holidays and offers facilities including 4 netball courts and 6 tennis courts (2 of which are fully enclosed).
Main Hall and Diner
The main school hall can accommodate up to 300 people (non-seated) and can seat between 100-300 (depending on layout required). It is suitable for a variety of functions such as shows, conferences, liturgical celebrations and events.
It has a woodblock floor and a stage. Stage lighting and presentation equipment is available to hire at an additional cost.
The adjacent smaller dining room can be hired separately.
6th Form Conference Centre
Our 6th Form Conference Centre is ideal for training sessions for up to 60 delegates and is available to hire from 6pm-9pm Monday – Friday and at weekends. The conference room is equipped with projector and automatic screen. DVD and online content can be displayed through installed PC. During the summer 2022, we will be installing vending machines into the cafe area, making this an ideal space for conferencing.
Classrooms
Our classrooms can be hired for educational purposes and seat up to 30 delegates. The classrooms are equipped with projectors and screens. DVD and online content can be displayed through installed PC.
Drama Studio
The Drama studio comprises two rooms, one measuring 12m x 7.m and the other measuring 6m x 4m. The rooms are ideal for performing arts, yoga or cinema screening. The flooring is “xx” vinyl and is a specialist floor for drama and dance. The smaller room is ideal for band rehearsals.
