Safeguarding
Safeguarding goes beyond the contributions made to child protection in relation to individual children. Our objective is to provide a safe environment for all young people to learn and reach their full potential.
To achieve this objective we have systems in place designed to
- Prevent unsuitable people working with children and young people
- Promote safe practice and challenge poor and unsafe practice
- Identify instances in which there are grounds for concern about a child’s welfare, and initiate or take appropriate action to keep them safe
NBS follows the procedures set out by the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board and take account of guidance issued by the Department for Education (DfE) and the document ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024’.
Please refer to our website’s Key Information section for our Child Protection (Safeguarding) Policy.
Ofsted Report 2021
“There is a strong culture of safeguarding at the school. Leaders train staff thoroughly in how to keep pupils safe. Leaders make sure that important information is shared appropriately. They keep detailed records of cases. Referrals to agencies, when needed, are prompt.Leaders find out about the experiences of pupils so that they are able to support them more effectively. Leaders include pupils in their decision-making when applying safeguarding processes. The curriculum contains content that ensures that pupils gain the knowledge about how to stay safe online. Pupils also develop understanding about how to keep themselves safe in various contexts and situations.”
