Enrichment Opportunities in Sixth Form
As well as a focus on the academic achievement of each student there is also a huge array of opportunities for students to develop their skills and become well-rounded individuals.
Every week Friday period 3 is designated enrichment time where students can involve themselves in a wide variety of enrichment opportunities: chaplaincy, Dragons’ Apprentice, university preparation, as well as talks from external speakers and alumni. There is also the opportunity to study for the Extended Project Qualification (an independent research project which is worth the equivalent of half an A level/ up to 70 UCAS points). Every week Wednesday period 5 is a designated sports enrichment afternoon.
There are also a number of subject trips to conferences and events in London and also further afield such as the A level Business trip to New York and Washington and the Science trip to Geneva.
The Lourdes Pilgrimage is also open to all year 12 and 13 students in which a week is spent working as a Red Cap helper supporting the elderly and disabled on their religious pilgrimage.
We work with the charity Mercy Marist Care, we raise money throughout the year in order to support this valuable charity which saves and enhances so many lives. Students have the opportunity to be fully involved in this fundraising.
We as a school are very proud of our sixth formers and see them as role models equipped with both the academic skills and the personal characteristics to make a big difference in their careers and lives once they move onto University or employment.
