At Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School we are committed to providing all our students in years 7 to 13 with a comprehensive programme of careers education, information, advice and guidance and work related learning.

Our programme:

  • Aims to inspire as well as inform and guide students

  • Is integrated into the students’ experience of the whole curriculum as well as through form-time lessons
  • Encourages all students to consider their career throughout Key Stage 3 and 4

  • International Women’s day – Highlighted to promote inspirational women in various careers and industries.
  • Termly Spotlight Series Careers talks during tutor time given by professionals from varied career areas.
  • Access to careers platform Unifrog, including dedicated ICT sessions in school, and tasks to complete at home.
  • STEM Science Trip

Year 8

  • Dedicated PHSE lessons to discuss future aspirations
  • Careers Focus Weeks – opportunities for pupils to learn about careers from across all subject areas

  • Interview with Deputy Head to discuss Options choices

Year 10

  • Year 10 Work Shadowing Week where students shadow adults in walks of life which interest them

  • Careers’ Fair with representatives from many different job roles, including Medicine, Law and Finance as well as Health Clubs and Hairdressing
  • International Women’s day – Highlighted to promote inspirational women in various careers and industries.

Sixth Form
