The Duke of Edinburgh
Nicholas Breakspear School is proud to have recently set up Duke of Edinburgh and delivered to a number of students in the past few years.
Year 9 – Bronze
Year 10/11 – Silver
Students have the opportunity to progress to the Silver award, learning and developing new skills along the way. Each level of the award has four sections to complete, Volunteering, Skill, Physical and Expedition.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is the world’s leading achievement award for young people, recognised by employers and universities alike. It promotes personal and social development through participation in an enjoyable, challenging and rewarding format. During completion of the award, they will need to take greater responsibilities for their own lives and they will gain skills and confidence.
Pupils commence the Bronze award in Year 10 and complete their expedition in the Chilterns.
